|Ian ( petal )Ian Pettigrew - Where did the time go? What a fantastic weekend and a HUGE thanks to Robbie for pulling this together! Something we will all remember forever for sure. Hope you all enjoyed it too? Dovey’s Missus really did us proud with the catering and the bar was well run too.
All those who travelled from far and wide agreed they had made a good choice in taking the time and effort to come. Where do we take it from here? Every five, three, ten or two years? Same venue or somewhere more exotic (Bermuda, Gullane, or Spain, for example)? Definitely Willie T for t’Committee next time around?
|NinaNina Valerio - I just had the greatest time all weekend!!!!! Dino, thanks for Saturday afternoon, you're a bad influence but at least we got Bow to join us on Saturday night.
I don't think i have ever laughed so much as i did yesterday ( even though i was feeling rather fragile ). Thanks to Ginger, Paul and Pat for that, ...........I feel really sorry for those who couldn't make it. Here's to the next one and hopefully all the friendships that were renewed will continue. Love to you all. Nina XXX
|AndyAndy Thomson - I'd say it was the best weekend I've had for as long as I can remember. Robbie and the other members of the organising committee did an amazing job in getting everything put together. I hope that those who travelled the longest distances thought it was worthwhile.
Pat and her willing band made a fine job of decorating the hall. I wish I could have helped Pat but, with my back....!! The bar and catering were also excellently organised - well done Dovey and Katrina & Lindsey. (Brilliant to see them too.)
I was pleasantly surprised at how well-preserved everyone looked (well, OK - maybe with one or two exceptions). Clearly the bracing sea air did us some good, after all when we were growing up. I recognised most of the guys, although I struggled a bit with one or two of the women. Apologies if I looked a bit blank at times!
It was a real joy to see so many old friends. I tried to spend some time with as many people as I could but I really wish I could have had more time.
|JanetJanet Wilson - I guess if every one of us writes an effusion it will get a bit wearing eventually - but!! - could not let the week pass without a me too mail.
Robbie - I think you worked a wee miracle - not least that we all felt 15 and a half without really trying. With friends like these who needs BoTox.
A host of new memories to add to the old ones - a triumph, Robbie and co-workers... Great fun start to finish. All the best for now.
EricEric McNicoll - Great to be part of it and to meet old friends and also get to know some new ones. It is surprising (or maybe not) how many people outside your own school year that you had heard of but never really knew or spoke to.
It was an excellent weekend from start on Friday right through to finish on Sunday evening. My only regret is that there were people that I wanted to speak to but, for whatever reason (mainly lack of time), didn't manage to. Hopefully next time that can be put right.
Thanks Brian and the team for getting the whole thing on. It must have been an act of real perseverance and there were surely times when they felt like kicking it into touch. Thanks to those who travelled the thousands of miles just be at the party. It is such effort and commitment that made the reunion that much more special. Un abrazo, Eric
